As the years go on... I am still grateful

I find myself celebrating my marriage many times a year even many times a day but today is the day  I think back to the start of our commitment to each other for the rest of our lives. The day we celebrated with our family and friends, the day my dad blessed our marriage and walked me down the isle on a beautiful lake filled with lily pads! I am so grateful for the people that attended or were a part of our wedding and to this day continue to strengthen our marriage, hold us accountable, make us laugh, love on our kids and lift us up when life is rough.
On a lighter note it was the day my veil caught on fire, at least that is the story my dad tells when he yanked it out of my head as we made our way down the isle! That fire was just a reminder to keep the spark in our marriage I think! It was the day I learned how LARGE the aiken/campbell clan was and I was/am so in love with that. A day to laugh at how small all of Mathew & his brothers looked next to his best man JR who stood 6'5 (ish) 350+ pounds next to their 5'6-5'11 (ish)165+.  It was a day that reminded us of the marriages that had gone before us, marriages that inspire us to be great.  A day that a few people read scripture, cut cake and laughed a lot, helped put flowers where they were supposed to be and did the things that needed to be done who may not have been called maids of honor but you girls continue to be my maids of honor and I thank you for that. It was also a day for Mat to cut a rug and he looked rad doing it!
enough rambling the point of my story is...
Mathew has taught me how to be a better person and for that I am honored to be his wife of 8 years.
